My scars.
His sovereignty.
A Daily Journey Through Scripture
Welcome to Scars & Sovereignty
A Daily Journey Through Scripture
I don’t write these daily reflections because I have all the answers. I write them because I need them—because I wake up every day just as desperate for God’s grace as I was the day before.
Maybe you do too.
This site is simple: God’s Word, read daily. Honest reflections, written daily. Nothing polished. No pretense. Just one man’s journey of faith, through trials and triumphs, wrestling and redemption.
In November 2024, a woodworking accident with a table saw changed my life. I lost two fingers, nearly lost two others, and spent months recovering—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I know what it means to be broken. To suffer. To wonder what God is doing in the wreckage. But I also know this: He is sovereign over every scar.
That’s why this site exists. Not to showcase my strength, but to magnify His.
If you’re here, I hope you’ll read along—not just my words, but His. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that God meets us in the daily discipline of His Word. Even when we don’t feel it. Even when we don’t see it.
The best time to begin was yesterday. The second best time is right now. So start today. Pick up where I am, or go back to Day 1.
How This Christian Devotional Works
Each day, I follow a simple reading plan:
- Old Testament
- New Testament
- A Psalm or Proverb (every other day)
- A personal reflection—not a polished theological essay, just raw, honest thoughts from my own walk with God
Real Stories. Real Faith. Real Impact.
Faith isn’t meant to be walked alone. Every day, these devotionals resonate with people across the country—those wrestling with their own scars and clinging to God’s sovereignty. Here’s what readers are saying about this journey through Scripture:
